Amounts and balances checked by code
Your bank statements, as reliable data.
Upload a PDF statement and get its transactions in Excel, CSV, OFX or JSON, with the PDF right next to the table. Every amount is matched against the PDF and the balance equation is checked by code; descriptions and dates, read by an AI model, can be reviewed with one click on the row.

PDF statements with text (60 pages, 20 MB max), no scans or photos
The statement's text is read by an AI model (Claude); the PDF and the result stay on the service, visible only to you, can be deleted from your history, and are erased after 7 days. Privacy
What you get · sample data
✓ Reconciled| Date | Description | Credit | Debit |
|---|---|---|---|
| 08/03 | CARD PURCHASE BAKERY | 12.34 | |
| 08/05 | PAYROLL DEPOSIT | 2,480.00 | |
| 08/07 | ELECTRIC CO AUTOPAY | 86.50 |
1,234.56 + 2,480.00 − 98.84 = 3,615.72 · printed balance 3,615.72

How it works
- 1
Drop in your PDF
Sign up with Google, then drag the statement downloaded from your bank's online portal into the drop zone.
- 2
We read it and check it
Transactions are extracted from the PDF's text, then every amount is matched against the document and the balance equation is checked.
- 3
You get your data
Review the table side by side with the PDF (click a row to highlight its source), fix anything if needed, then export to Excel, CSV, OFX, QIF or JSON.
What gets checked, and what doesn't.
Converting a statement is easy; knowing the conversion is accurate is harder. RowTick doesn't ask you to take its word for it: it shows you exactly what the code checked and what's left for you to review.
- ✓
Every amount found in the PDF
Any extracted amount that doesn't appear verbatim in the PDF's text is flagged immediately: that's the telltale sign of a misread.
- ✓
Balance equation
Opening balance + credits − debits must equal the printed closing balance, to the cent. The full calculation is shown for each account.
- ✓
Transaction order
Row order is checked. Doubtful rows are highlighted along with the reason for the doubt.
- ✓
Live reconciliation
Uncheck a row or fix an amount: the “Reconciled” or “Off by …” badge updates with every change, and every row links back to its source in the PDF.
What “Verified” doesn't guarantee
- Descriptions and dates are read by an AI model, not checked by code: review them against the PDF alongside. Doubtful rows are flagged, but a subtle error can slip through.
- A statement with no printed balance stays “Unverifiable”: only the amounts are cross-checked.
- Two errors that cancel each other out exactly (say, a debit and a credit swapped for the same amount) can slip past the balance equation.
Frequently asked questions
Which documents can I convert?
PDF bank statements downloaded from your bank, meaning PDFs that contain text (up to 60 pages and 20 MB). There's no character recognition (OCR): a fully scanned PDF or a photo is rejected, because reading an image introduces errors in amounts. Documents that aren't statements (invoices, contracts…) are rejected too.
How long does it take?
About 10 seconds for a one-page statement, around 20 seconds for three pages, and a minute to a minute and a half for a statement of about twenty pages. The progress screen shows the pages read and the time elapsed; if the analysis service is busy, it may take longer, and you'll get a message if it fails.
What if some pages of my PDF are images?
Readable pages are converted, but pages that are images can't be read: the result is then “Not verified”, with the affected pages listed. Open the PDF next to the table to spot the missing transactions, or download a complete PDF from your bank.
What does “Verified” guarantee?
The code found every amount in the PDF and the balance equation adds up to the cent. Descriptions and dates are read by an AI model: they aren't guaranteed, which is why the PDF is shown next to the table.
What does “Not verified” mean?
A check failed, for example a gap between the calculated balance and the printed balance, or PDF pages that are images and couldn't be read. The result can still be exported, but flagged rows should be reviewed against the PDF.
What if my statement has no balance?
The result is then “Unverifiable”: without a printed balance, the equation can't be checked. The amounts are still cross-checked against the PDF.
What happens to my documents?
The statement's text is sent to an AI model (Claude, by Anthropic) to be read. The result and the PDF are kept by the service, on the machine that runs it, visible only to your account, until you delete them from your history (or after 7 days). No tracking.
Which export formats are available?
Excel; CSV (comma-separated, decimal point, MM/DD/YYYY dates); international CSV (signed amounts, YYYY-MM-DD dates); OFX and QIF for accounting and personal finance software; and JSON. All are generated in your browser from the checked and displayed rows. The full JSON file, including the checks, is also available.
